PROGRAMME DETAILS

The aim of the programme is to build self-esteem, control anger, increase confidence and to promote a healthy lifestyle through boxing sessions and classroom activities. Through the years of delivering our courses we have seen the positive effect on students and how it has enhanced their lives for the better.  

 

Emotional wellbeing
Enhanced emotional wellbeing is seen to contribute to upwards spirals in increasing coping ability, self esteem, performance and productivity in school and even longevity. With the inclusion of our boxing programme we aim to address issues such as anger management, self confidence and motivate our youth.
Child obesity on the rise!
​With child obesity on the rise we feel it is vital that the youth of today are educated about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. This includes eating a balanced diet, the dangers of drugs, alcohol and smoking and how to exercise on a daily basis.  

 

Physical fitness
Through the use of non contact boxing we aim to improve the physical fitness of all who take part on the course. A fitness test will take place on the first session and monitored throughout the course. With a varied training programme from, jogging, skipping, punching pads and circuit training to name a few. We aim to see an improvement in the fitness level of the students.

 

Improvement in behaviour 
Introduction to boxing
Many schools have seen the benefits of including boxing in the curriculum and or after-school activities, particularly with young people at risk of exclusion or in pupil referral units. It gives them self-esteem, can assist in reducing aggression, yet at the same time is a highly disciplined sport. Health and safety is paramount and all boxing sessions are non contact.

All schools who have taken part in the ProYouth programme have reported significant improvements in student behaviour With the group discussions targeting emotional wellbeing and our boxing sessions students are able to have an outlet from stress, build confidence and also learn discipline.
